Duncandane Started out when I purchased my first Great Dane Duncan. He is a fawn pet. When I started out looking for one of these beautiful dogs, I was shocked of how little quality was out there. I then met my mentor, and the breeder of Stone's Mister Monstrosity. She has helped me to see past the propaganda of other breeders. They claim they have "european type" and are cashing in on the American scare. The truth is, there are very few good dogs left in Europe. So Andrea (my mentor) and myself have set out to not just breed Great Danes, but to better them.
I want children of future generations to have a dane true to type. But the catch is, I want it to live past 7 years! Through extremely careful and selective breedings, and a holistic environment we have seen an improvement in the breed. Stonehenge dogs are living on an average of 10-13 but 11 being the norm.
With a 100% Raw diet and no vaccinations, we are seeing clear Dane type. Most breeders advertise their "longevity" but when you ask them to prove their dogs lifespan, they cannot give you a straight answer. With the help of my dedicated mentor I promise in future years we will be bringing out the BEST danes possible. Good health (brought on by a good immune system, not vaccination dependant) longevity, and temprament are the key factors.
